Iran confirmed an operation against an Amazon data center in Bahrain, identified as the principal U.S. information processing hub in the region, in response to recent U.S. and Israeli aggressions.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a drone strike on Amazon’s largest data center in Bahrain on Wednesday, March 4, accusing the facility of serving as a Pentagon intelligence hub amid escalating hostilities triggered by U.S.-Israeli attacks against Tehran.

According to a statement released by the Fars news agency, the elite unit of the Iranian Armed Forces clarified that the objective of the incursion is to “determine the role of these data centers” in intelligence efforts and logistical support for U.S. military aggressions against the Persian nation. This significant attack targets critical infrastructure believed to be directly supporting hostile foreign operations.
In parallel, the Tasnim agency reported that the IRGC successfully neutralized at least seven advanced radars belonging to occupation forces and their allies. “Thanks to the successful destruction of more than seven advanced radars, the eyes of the U.S. and the Israeli regime in the Middle East region have been blinded”, the military body emphasized. This action highlights a significant loss in the Western coalition’s air and electronic surveillance capabilities, directly impacting their regional operational reach and situational awareness.
Escalation and Casualties
These actions are part of Tehran’s counteroffensive following coordinated attacks initiated by the U.S. and Israel on February, 28. That previous incursion occurred barely 48 hours after a round of nuclear negotiations concluded in Geneva, and tragically resulted in the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with family members and senior civilian and military commanders. The Iranian Ministry of Health reports a devastating toll of 1,045 people killed and more than 6,180 injured as a result of the foreign aggression to date.
In a move that redefines the global energy and trade landscape, the Islamic Republic announced complete control of the Ormuz Strait. Persian authorities have prohibited transit through this vital maritime route, which connects the Persian Gulf with the Arabian Sea, directly impacting the global flow of hydrocarbons. Iran has reiterated that it will maintain its retaliatory strikes against U.S. military bases located in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
The attack on the Amazon data center in Bahrain underscores Iran’s assertion of the fusion between U.S. technology corporations and the Pentagon’s military apparatus.
By hosting critical infrastructure that processes artificial intelligence and war logistics, these purportedly civilian facilities operate as the strategic “brain” for target selection on Persian soil. For Tehran, this transforms these companies into direct actors in the aggression against its sovereignty and territorial integrity, making them legitimate targets in the ongoing conflict.
